Okay, we know. Zillow is a very controversial topic. Please don’t persecute us for joining in on their marketing schemes. No matter which side you fall on the Zillow debate, we are here to offer you some really great hacks on how to get the most out of that $50 spent on a Zillow video.
First things first, do you know what a Zillow Walkthrough video is? It’s an add-on service. Our Zillow-certified photographers utilize the Zillow app to record and upload a video designed for the Zillow platform (using an iPhone!). Adding the Zillow tour provides priority search results and thus more exposure for your listings.
What gear do we use to record these videos? We use a mobile phone stabilizer/gimbal made by DJI (the company that is known for all the drones) with a wide-angle lens to get the best angles. The best in mobile video technology.
What happens after the video is uploaded to Zillow? Ahh. So glad you asked! This is where it gets good. Many people leave it at that. It now lives on the Zillow platform, cool. It’s boosting your listing, but not doing much else. Remember, we are all about making the most of the services you are paying for. You also get a copy of the video saved in your Dropbox folder after each appointment.
So, what does the video look like? Again. Great question. The video has NO sound. It has some built-in transitions. Other than that, it is a silent video that lives on Zillow.
What else can we do with this silent video? It’s like you were born for this blog. Here’s the key. There are SO many easy-to-use apps that will allow you to add sound and graphics to this silent video. Making it way cooler and way more versatile. We recommend saving it to your camera roll and taking it into our favorite app InShot and adding a filter, some sound, and your logo, and posting it to the gram or FB. You can make small clips to add to your story, too!
Lastly. Please know that we recognize that this is nowhere near professional quality. We do know that every little bit counts. And for $50, why not get some extra exposure and marketing for your listing.
